Dan Nuon is a seasoned leader who has spent over a decade building the teams, brands, and systems that companies get acquired for. As Partner and Chief Creative Officer at Hungry Media he built and ran the creative department for almost a decade, helping grow the firm from 3 people to 21 and directing millions in cumulative campaign spend for various national brands. He founded Refuse Normal Studio solo in 2015 and scaled identity, packaging, and campaign programs for clients including Reebok, W Hotels, Marriott, and Soylent, before it was acquired in 2019. Four of the companies he helped build have been acquired. Today he sits as one of two Managing Partners in Laiderman Management, running fractional operations across four client accounts and three portfolio companies, and he still owns Shohaus, the Los Angeles furniture brand he founded in 2020 and has since carried to hundreds of delivered builds and partnership with trade professionals. What separates him now is that he builds repeatable systems behind the success over the last decade. Dan architects and ships production AI infrastructure himself: a human-gated meeting ingestion pipeline routing across isolated domains, a self-triaging email system spanning dozens of mailboxes, and a multi-business AI operating system running agent orchestration on his own hardware. The discipline is the point. Autonomy rules get defined before anything ships, every write traces back to a human confirmation, and isolation stays provable on every deploy. That same operator's rigor is what he brings to client work. Most leaders can set the strategy or build the machine. Dan does both, and he has the operating history in creative, revenue, and engineering to know where the two have to meet.
